GPSTR Reps

Maintaining a high degree of trainee involvement in the development and organisation of our training programme is a priority. To this end each year-group has a nominated representative who acts as the official liaison between the year-group and the programme.

The representative is appointed by each year group to meet with the training programme directors on a regular basis, 3 times a year, to discuss issues relating to the programme.

Details of the current reps, minutes of previous meetings and dates for future meetings are available from the Programme Office.

All trainees are actively encouraged to provide feedback on programme activities. Apart from the periodic programme reps meetings we are all keen to hear form trainees at any time to discuss developmental ideas, problems or observations on how the programme operates.

You can contact us by email NorthCumbriaGPTP.NE@hee.nhs.uk or phone 01228 814881 or by popping into the office in Carlisle. There is usually a TPD around just before or after teaching or at the teaching break on a Wednesday for an informal chat, or you can book an appointment with a TPD by contacting the Specialty Programme Co-ordinators in the office.

There is also GPSTR representation on the RCGP Cumbria faculty board and at various deanery meetings, including recruitment and the standing educational conference. Every trainee is encouraged and has the opportunity to become actively involved in wider training and professional political activities if this is of interest.
